Prof. Fabrizio Mastromartino

Courses and Seminars:

Fabrizio Mastromartino is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law. He also teaches Logic and Argumentation and Bioethics and Biolaw [both in Italian], for the Department of Law, and Philosophy of Law [in italian] for the degree course in Philosophical Sciences. He holds a degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Analytical Philosophy and General Theory of Law (University of Milan, 2008). He is the author of two books, on the right of asylum (2012) and on same-sex marriage (2013), and has edited several volumes, including: an anthology of modern classics on freedom of expression (2013), a collected volume on the theory of equality (2018) and the translation of contemporary Anglo-Saxon jurisprudence studies on the theory of rights (currently in press). He has published numerous essays on these topics in Italian and international journals. He is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals 'Diritto e Questioni Pubbliche' and 'Rivista di Filosofia del diritto', official organ of the Italian Society of Philosophy of Law. His research interests concern the history of political thought and legal culture, the theory of rights and constitutional interpretation, bioethics and biolaw, with particular reference to the relationship between the fundamental principles of dignity, autonomy and equality.
