Prof. Giorgio Pino

Giorgio Pino is Full Professor of Philosophy of Law. Before joining the Law Department of Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Giorgio was an Associate Professor (2004-2016), and then a Full Professor (2016-2018) at the University of Palermo. He has obtained a Ph.D. in Human Rights from the University of Palermo (2000), and a LL.M. in Legal Theory from the European Academy of Legal Theory (1998).
Dottorato di ricerca in Diritti umani: evoluzione, tutela e limiti (2000, Università di Palermo). Master in Legal Theory (1998, European Academy of Legal Theory, Bruxelles). He has held visiting positions at Columbia University (2007), Oxford University (2009), European University Institute (2013), Université Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne (2013, 2014), Universidade de Lisboa (2019), UCL (2020 - posponed due to the covid-19 emergency). He is co-editor of Diritto & Questioni Pubbliche, a journal in legal philosophy and legal culture, and member of the scientific board of the journals: Rivista di filosofia del diritto, Analisi e diritto, Lo Stato, Ragion pratica, Revus, Roma Tre Law Review. He is also a member of the scientific board of the Italian Society of Legal Philosophy, of the Istituto Emilio Betti di Scienza e Teoria del diritto, and of the Executive Committee of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR).
