Studied Law (Laurea cum laude and PhD) at the University ‘La Sapienza’ (Rome). He is Full Professor (with tenure) in International law and EU Law. Currently he is professor in EU Law at the Department of Law, University of Rome Tre. Former Legal Adviser to the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in Brussels (2006-2014), as well as to the Diplomatic Service of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2006), and Legal Counsel at the Cabinet of the Minister of Treasury (2015-16). Appointed ‘Commendatore della Repubblica’, motu proprio by President of the Republic of Italy (2013). Barrister since 1986, he is back to advisory and litigation experience. He is the author of four monographs and many articles in national and international journals. His research and teaching focus on EU law, international law and conflict of laws.
